LSC students were welcomed to the 2023 school year at a whole school assembly presided over by our
2023 School Leaders, Chloe Goff, Lily Hume and Chloe Stoops. The three welcomed new and returning students and shared the following messages.
Chloe Stoops “All 12 years of our schooling so far have led to the coming year and regardless of the evident challenges it will bring, we’re grateful for the community we’re surrounded by to support us in the upcoming difficulties of our final year of schooling.”
“Our attitude towards others determines their attitude towards us.”, Earl Nightingale.
As a School Leader, Chloe Goff wishes to “create an encouraging atmosphere for our fellow students.” And advised students to “make the most of the year ahead and all opportunities that you are presented with.”
Lily Hume reminded us all that,
“learning is completely individual”
“progress is not linear”
and “mistakes are one of the best ways to learn.”
Principal Brad Hutchinson welcomed students and introduced new staff members. He spoke about the importance of coming to school each day and Attendance awards were presented to those students with 100% attendance during Term 4, 2022.
Khalil Cheikh-Hussein and Chris Green shared information about the Student Representative Council and the revised elections process and meeting format.
Lachlan Wright then announced the House Captains and Vice House Captains and encouraged all students to participate in the upcoming sporting events this Term.
Assistant Principal Warwick Ford and the School Leaders presented to the Year 7s during a special assembly at the end of the day.
Everyone, including students and staff, enjoyed the first day and we are all looking forward to the coming year.
