Thursday 10th September is R U OK? Day.

LSC students have provided the following statements in regard to the RUOK process:

“RUOK has made me realise that sometimes it’s good to talk to someone about what’s going on in our life or in your mind and it has helped me make my friendships stronger and has helped me become more comfortable. Talking to people can help you with the things that you have in your mind. Talking to people can help get rid of stress or anxiety.”

“Throughout this RUOK unit, I have learnt that it’s okay to ask for help when needed, that I have friends who will always support me and that there are websites to help with my health and wellbeing. I have also learned that it’s ok to not be ok and that I can help others in need. It has made me realise that just because people show happiness that sometimes they are not okay but they want help and don’t ask for it.”

“In the RUOK unit, I have learnt that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, instead a sign of strength. It is important to seek help to deal with the situation and move forward.”
