puzzle jigsaw heart on brain, mental health concept, world autism awareness day

Leongatha Secondary College has arranged for headspace to offer a free education session for all of our parents and carers via Zoom on Monday 6th September (6pm – 7.30pm)

The session is titled “Supporting your young person’s mental health and wellbeing” and it will be delivered by Ms. Natalie Rutstein (Mental Health Education Program Consultant) and Wonthaggi headspace.

Information covered in the session will include:

·       information about mental health and wellbeing in adolescence

·       how to have conversations with young people about mental health & wellbeing

·       strategies for parents/carers about how to support their young person

The session forms part of our lead-in to RUOK? Day on Thursday 9th September that our college will be recognising and celebrating. Students in all year levels will be undertaking further workshops and information sessions delivered by headspace, as well (more information will come to them soon).

RUOK? Day is headspace’s national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life’s ups and downs.

We are really encouraging as many of you as possible to register for the education session, as we believe it will be of great value to all of us who are parents or carers. You can register by completing this form.

The session link will be forwarded to you after you have registered using the above form.
