19 VCAL Students form LSC were invited by Gippsland Tech to participate in the Flat Pack Furniture Challenge. The aim of the challenge is for students to use their maths skills to design a piece of flat pack furniture within the requirements set out by their customers. Day 1 interviews commenced between students and customers, with students identifying the parameters of the design. CAD software was used to finalise the look of their furniture before the process of manufacturing commenced. This involved using the laser cutter or CNC machine. On day 2, students focused on the use of persuasion and new technologies to create a campaign to market and sell their product.
