Dear Leongatha Secondary College community,
LSC Parents & Carers Association was established in 2018 according to Education Department guidelines by a group of parents who wanted to create opportunities for families to be a part of their children’s education. Their aim is to connect parents and carers with each other, and with school staff for the educational benefit of children and their peers.The group had 9 meetings before COVID arrived, were involved in supporting student events and welcoming parents at school information sessions, and establishing the LSC Textbooks and Uniforms Facebook page.Those involved appreciated the connections they made. During COVID the group hibernated, and now the time has come for the current Secretary and Council representative to move on as they will no longer have children at LSC.
All parents and carers of LSC students are invited to a dinner meeting7 PM Wednesday 15th December at McIndoe Park, Leongatha
to discuss the future of the association and the vote will be taken “to voluntarily dissolve the Leongatha Secondary College Parents and Carers Association”.
If those attending are willing to become members of the association and fill the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer, the association will continue for the benefit of the school community, and the well being of parents and carers. The association has no money or other assets except people.
The association is free, membership is by completing a registration form, and supplying current Working With Children Check. Membership is open to any parent or guardian of a child attending the school, or any other interested individual of the immediate school community. In 2018 and 2019 members met 4 or 5 times a year, with meetings sometimes attended by the school Principal.
The Association appreciates the support of the School Council and LSC staff.
