The Inspiring Careers in Health Camp was an overnight experience for LSC students Rebecca Lunn, Ava Brown, Zoe Reid, Phoebe Collins, Alana Lopez-Freeman, Sienna Matheson and Skye Munro. Accompanied by staff Lynn Grabham and Mrs Chalmers.
In partnership with Federation University and TAFE Gippsland, students were introduced to a range of Health related careers and were given the opportunity to gain knowledge on pathways and employment options within the health sector.
The first day at Federation University included tours of the Allied Health Centre and Schools of Health Nursing Labs, along with a tour of the campus.
An Inspiring Young People Dinner was held in the University Auditorium where students and staff were treated to a two course dinner and inspiring presentations from health professionals. Students were allocated seating on different tables where they were given the chance to learn from many different people in the health field.
On the second day after a lovely cooked breakfast, students were taken to TAFE Gippsland in Morwell where they participated in practical activities in a range of health disciplines from Allied Health, Aged Care and Nursing using exercise class health equipment and simulation manikins.
LSC Students gained a lot of useful information and found the camp to be a great insight into many health professions.
