Kurnai Elder Linda Mullet, was the visiting speaker at a very special meeting for all Year 7s earlier this week. Linda’s presentation gave students a better understanding of the importance of The Dreaming in Kurnai culture. Students learnt about Kurnai law and the importance of gaining permission from Elders before doing business on another Tribe’s land. They were told how The Dreaming and traditions are passed down verbally to younger generations. The event was part of Humanities’ learning sequence about Ancient Australia.
