Local Graduates Shine Across Diverse Pathways in a Record-Breaking Year
Today Leongatha Secondary College celebrates the end of Year 12 for the Class of 2025 — a cohort that has now secured some outstanding academic and vocational results. This year’s outcomes tell a story not only of achievement but of possibility. From exceptional ATAR results — including an overall mean study score of 28.5, and 17 study scores above 40 — to a remarkable number of VCE Vocational Major and SBAT completions, 2025 stands as a year that will be remembered across the community.
Principal Brad Hutchinson praised the results.
“We are extremely proud of each and every one of our graduating students this year from our college. This group has embraced LSC’s culture of striving for excellence, supporting one another, and leaning into challenges. Collectively, they have shown us what is possible when perseverance meets purpose; from the exceptional ATAR achievements to the outstanding VCE Vocational Major and SBAT completions, their collective outcomes and results reflect not just achievement, but the ambition and resilience that define this cohort.
We wish each and every student the very best in their next step forward into university, industry, or further training, and hope they carry with them the many valuable lessons learned in their time with us at the college.”
Academic Futures: University Pathways in 2026
While vocational success continues to grow, academic pathways remain a cornerstone of student achievement at LSC. 43 of our VCE and VCE VM students are preparing to begin university studies in 2026, hoping to enter fields such as Health and Medical Science, Education, Engineering, Law and Social Justice, Design and Commerce.
Multiple students have already been selected into Early Offers for Universities and a number of students have been selected to begin studying University courses as part of their year 12 studies in 2026.
Chloe Le Page has been awarded our College VCE DUX with an ATAR of 94.4. Sage Deenen scored 93.8 and Melissa Diggerman 90.95. The College also celebrated eight students with ATARs in the 80s – all a phenomenal effort and true reflection of the hard work placed into their studies throughout their educational journeys.
Mackenna Anderson received the VCE VM Dux for 2026 for her excellent achievement, leadership, attendance, and commitment across all areas of the program including her VCE VM studies, VET and SWL/SBAT programs.
Workforce-Ready and Community-Grounded
LSC also continues to champion vocational education as a respected and celebrated pathway. 53 VCE VM graduates will step directly into paid work, apprenticeships or further training, many with local employers ready to continue their mentorship into 2026.
VCE VM Coordinator Lachie Wright highlighted.
“Our vocational students are stepping into skilled roles that strengthen our local community. They have had an exceptional year, embracing applied learning, workplace experiences, and practical projects. Students engaged confidently in their Structured Work Placements and VET studies, gaining real industry experience and key employability skills.
This year we introduced the VCE VM Dux award, recognising a student who demonstrated outstanding achievement, leadership, attendance, and commitment across all areas of the program. We look forward to seeing students strive for this honour in future years.
We are incredibly proud of our VCE VM students and the pathways they are building, and we wish them every success moving forward.”
The Class of 2025 leaves LSC with outstanding results, strengthened skills and a sense of community that has anchored their final year. As they move into university lecture theatres, trade workshops, and local businesses, they do so with a foundation that is both academically rigorous and locally grounded.
As a College, we are immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make as they represent our community well into the future.
