Students and teachers a part of the LSC Senior band performed at the Leongatha Farmers Market on Saturday to crowds that gathered at the newly established market. It was only the the second market, yet the atmosphere of music and fresh food was one that will hopefully last for months and years to come.
The senior band, composing of students and teachers specialising in a variety of different instruments, had been practising several classical pieces over the last few weeks and were excited to have the opportunity to perform to an inviting crowd.
After only a few songs, disaster struck. The shower of rain unfortunately prevented any further playing out in the open, and the band were forced under a shelter. This, however, would not stop them as they persisted and delighted the crowds. They performed two sets of around thirty minutes and concluded with a haunting rendition of the theme from Game Of Thrones.
The Leongatha Farmers Market is located at the Leongatha Community Gardens, previously the Leongatha Primary School. It takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month and there will hopefully be more appearances from the Senior Band at future markets.
