Library

The library provides welcoming, supervised spaces for students to actively engage in their learning.

Developing information literacy skills through research and fostering lifelong learning is the philosophy that underpins the library at Leongatha Secondary College. Staff advise students on how to locate, evaluate and use the most suitable resources for research.

In order to extend students’ reading skills, library staff have developed the program, ‘Get Reading’. Students are encouraged to read widely across a range of genres and text types and to record their progress.

The library supports the teaching and learning in the school through participation in a range of curriculum development and extra curricular activities.

CBCA Book Week is celebrated annually with a range of events and competitions during this time. A monthly book club is also run to support students in their recreational reading.

Students have the opportunity to display leadership skills through becoming volunteer Library Monitors.
