Assessment and Reporting

Assessment will be communicated via two Parent/Teacher interview days and two written descriptive reports at the end of each semester. Reports will contain a description of the subject; indicators of the student’s behaviour and work in class; a general statement about the student’s progress; and, at the end of the year, a statement of level of achievement against standards as prescribed by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

In addition to the formal reporting process, parents will also be able to use “Compass” to view Progress Reports relating to their child on a three week revolving cycle. This additional level of reporting allows parents to monitor their child’s attendance, class participation, work practices and academic achievement. These Progress Reports will allow parents to acknowledge areas where their child is doing well, and also provide extra encouragement and support in areas identified as below the expected standards.
